Sesko's transfer saga is about to reach its pinnacle, as the Slovenian striker is now on the brink of signing a deal with Manchester United
We've seen shorter and less dramatic soap operas, but this series seems to be reaching its climax.
Benjamin Sesko could join Manchester United after the Old Trafford side successfully battled Newcastle United for the signing of the 22-year-old RB Leipzig striker.
Both clubs submitted their respective offers for the Slovenian forward, and the media in his homeland even suggested Sesko is already a Magpie last week... Alas, this transfer saga then reached another U-turn. But what happened, step by step?
First, Newcastle initially tabled €75million plus €5m in add-ons, before raising that on Monday to €80m. Shortly after, the Red Devils made a proposal of €75m plus €10m.
The Geordies then raised their bid on Tuesday to €82.5m plus €2.5m, which Leipzig even accepted!
Unfortunately for Newcastle, it seems that Sesko himself is eager to join Manchester United and that could be the crucial game changer. Still, there is no agreement between Man Utd and Leipzig, but - according to The Athletic - the situation is moving in that direction.
This is what Benjamin Sesko will add to Manchester united.

Sesko scored 21 goals in all competitions last season for Leipzig and has recorded 39 goals and eight assists in 87 appearances for the German club since signing from RB Salzburg in 2023.
