The boys and girls winning teams took home Ksh 250,000, tickets to the National finals, a phone and Safaricom credit worth Ksh 2000 for each player
Ebwali Boys and Brenda Girls are the champions of the Western Region Safaricom Chapa Dimba champions after edging Compel Sportiff and Lugari Progressive in final matches played at the iconic Bukhungu Stadium on Sunday 27th August.
Ebwali Boys 1-0 Compel Sportiff
Austine Odongo’s goal on 47 minutes was all Ebwali Boys from Vihiga needed to edge Compel Sportiff from Bungoma and win the Western Region Safaricom Chapa Dimba title.
Brenda Girls 2-1 Lugari Progressive
Brenda Girls ensured Bungoma bagged the girls title after edging Lugari Progressive from Kakamega in an exciting match played earlier at the same venue.
Esther Wafula opened the scoring for Brenda Girls on the quarter hour mark and they held on to the lead until the 75th minute when Marion Musanga equalized for Lugari Progressive. Esther Mukhwana struck with six minutes left on the clock to ensure Brenda Girls win the girls title and earn a ticket to the National final to be held next year in February.
