Goncalo Ramos is reportedly on the Blues' radar, though they are not the only club keen on bringing the Portuguese in the next transfer window
Has Goncalo Ramos finally had enough?
Enough of being a second, third, or fourth option, a fringe striker, a bench warmer, and a golden sub. Based on the increasingly louder rumors about his departure from Paris, he may have.
Ramos joined PSG in August 2023 as a Benfica loanee and in January 2024, permanently for €65 million. And even though he arrived as a crucial reinforcement, he never got a proper chance. Moreover, almost three years later, he's still waiting for one.
The competition in the Saints' attack has been fierce, that's true. As a newcomer, he had to fight for a place on the team with Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, and Randal Kolo Muani. A year later, Desire Doue, Bradley Barcola, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia joined in the battle, and Ramos did not stand a chance.
His playing time gradually decreased season after season, from around 48 minutes per game in his first season and about 40 minutes in the following one, to approximately 36 minutes in the current campaign.
Still, he's never complained, staying quiet and working hard. In three seasons with the Parisians, even with such reduced minutes on the pitch, Ramos scored 44 goals in 124 appearances, in most of which he came off the bench.
During his spell at Parc des Princes, he came to PSG's rescue a number of times, netting late winners and equalizers, but those days will seemingly be over soon.
Atletico Madrid has recently shown interest in bringing the 24-year-old, and now Chelsea has allegedly revealed the same intention, as the Blues crave a genuine striker who can provide them with double-digit goals.

Liam Delap and Marc Guiu are definitely not reliable enough options, while Joao Pedro cannot carry the whole season on his own and needs help.
Nevertheless, the Blues will also need help, but from heaven, to win the fierce race and sign a player before whose door stands a bunch of respectable European clubs - from Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, and AC Milan, to the aforementioned Atletico, Manchester United, and Newcastle.
Ramos had a chance to leave PSG last June as well, but he decided to stay and fight for his position. It seems the upcoming transfer window will be a whole other story, and he won't make the same mistake again.
