Coach Nyangweso lays blame on shots topper's errors.

Ulinzi Stars coach Benjamin Nyangweso has blamed errors from James Saruni for his team's FKF Cup exit.

Ulinzi went down 2-0 to Nairobi City Stars in an FKF Cup round of 16 match played at Ruaraka Grounds. Nicholas Kipkirui and Davis Agesa scored the goals for Kawangware based side.

The Soldiers' skipper made uncharacteristic errors. First he came off his line and failed to collect an Anthony Kimani which Nicholas Kipkirui headed home. He made another error which resulted to Agesa robbing the ball off him for a second goal.

In his post match interview, Nyangweso said the errors led to their cup exit.

"We did everything well but two mistakes cost us today. I think Saruni had a bad day in office today, he has been keeping clean sheets but today was not a good day for him. Overall we played well but the mistakes cost us," he told Mozzart Sport.

Nyangweso took off striker Oscar Wamalwa after the interval and replaced him with midfielder Omar Boraafya and he explained his decision.

"Oscar was poor in the first half, and I decided to make a change to add that attacking punch but unfortunately we conceded early in the second half and things became complex,"

His City Stars counterpart Sanjin Alagic was full of praise for his players.

"First I want to congratulate my guys. They were really amazing today because they played against a very tough team to beat. Ulinzi have conceded only ten goals in 18 games when you win 2-0 against them it's a big win. Last match they had won against Sofapaka away and they are a very tough team to beat," he said.

"Today we were calm, very good in possession, we were dangerous and we knew that we can use our opportunities and their weakness and we are now in the quarter final," he added.

City Stars will face Bidco United in the quarters.
