The former Celtic winger is not on Al-Ittihad
Portuguese winger Jota might not be among the eight foreign players chosen by Al-Ittihad to compete in the Saudi Pro League, according to the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyahd.
Since his transfer from Celtic to Nuno EspÃrito Santo's team for a fee of $31 million, Jota has been going through a tough spell at the Saudi club. He has played only 120 minutes in four league games, starting all of them from the bench.
This decision has ignited strong frustration among fans who find it hard to believe that a choice would be made so quickly regarding the former Benfica player. After only five bench appearances, and now he's being excluded. What are they thinking?
Last month, there was a report that Jota would be released from his contract, but it proved wrong. The 24-year-old Celtic fan favourite remains in hot desert - but he's in the cold.
Al-Ittihad, led by EspÃrito Santo, is currently in third position in the league, behind Al-Taawon and Al-Hilal.
