Serbian gang puts Atletico to the sword as Leganes end Cholo's 15-game winning streak

If Real Madrid manage to defend the La Liga title, if another trophy ends up in the showcases of the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, the least they can do is to thank the Serbian players from the Madrid suburbs, and take them to dinner. Because they don't have a more significant ally than the Serbs in this championship race.

Recently, Leganes keeper Marko Dmitrovic drove Barcelona crazy with his incredible saves as the minnows topped Hansi Flick's side.

Today, Dmitrovic repeated his heroics along with his compatriot Matija Nastasic, who scored a winner in a 1-0 home win against the current table-toppers Atletico Madrid.

This way, the charming underdogs managed to put an end to Los Colchoneros' 15-game-long winning streak.

Despite almost 20 shots on his goal, Dmitrovic didn't concede a single goal, with Antoine Griezmann missing a late penalty that could have earned his team at least a draw.

Connor Gallagher and Julian Alvarez were also close to scoring, but this Saturday just wasn't meant for Diego Cholo Simeone and his lot to celebrate in the suburbs.

Not too bad for La Liga debutants, wouldn't you say?

Tomorrow at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid will have an opportunity against Las Palmas to return to the summit.
