Of the millions collected against Homeboyz, the amount was Shabana's second-highest collection from the gate this season
It was double delight for FKF Premier League side Shabana FC in their match against Kakamega Homeboyz after earning handsomely from the gates to spice the three points earned from the field of play.
In what has now turned out to be routine for the Glamour Boys, the club, through their Facebook page, revealed the millions collected from their weekend match.
“We collected a gross revenue of Ksh1,184,600. Asante sana (Thank you) to all those who made it to Gusii Stadium for our match against Kakamega Homeboyz Fc. It was great seeing the stadium painted red and white,” posted Shabana.
In the match that was played on Sunday, 2 March 2025, Shabana recorded their biggest win of the season after thumping Kakamega Homeboyz 4-1 to end the latter's 12-match unbeaten run.
A brace from new signing Oscar Juma and goals from Elvis Osok and Brian Michira were all that Shabana needed to ensure that they collected maximum points from the match.
Of the millions collected against Homeboyz, the amount was Shabana's second-highest collection from the gate this season, with their home match against Kariobangi Sharks on Sunday 2 February, holding the record after it fetched a gross of Ksh1,279,100.
Some of the other matches where the club collected millions include their last home match against Mathare United, which earned them Ksh1,054,100; their 2-1 win over Tusker in January, where they collected Ksh1,058,800; and their victory over KCB in December 2024 that brought them Ksh1,015,000.
With undoubtedly the biggest fan base attending league matches in Kenya this season, Shabana has successfully turned their support into one of the main sources of revenue for the club this season.
Apart from the millions, Shabana fans have also managed to help the club in making Gusii Stadium a fortress for visiting teams who find it intimidating and mostly succumb to the pressure therein.
Shabana have lost only two home matches this season, which came early in the season before they recorded their first win of the season.
