As is their tradition, the Glamour Boys announced their match day revenue shortly after the game, with collections surpassing the Ksh 1 million mark once again.

“We collected a gross revenue of Ksh 1,408,000/=

Asante sana (thank you) to all those who made it to Gusii Stadium for our match against Mara Sugar FC.

It was great seeing the stadium painted red and white.” Shabana posted on their Facebook page.

The amount is more than double what the club collected during their midweek clash against Bidco United, a match Shabana won 2-1 under head coach Peter Okidi.

In that match, played on Wednesday, 14 May 2025, the club announced a gross revenue of Ksh 694,500—significantly below their usual range.

The Ksh 1.4 million collected from the Mara Sugar game becomes yet another seven-figure revenue, adding to similar earnings when they hosted Posta Rangers, Kariobangi Sharks, Kakamega Homeboyz, Mathare United, Tusker, and KCB.

Additionally, the Kisii-based side collected slightly over Ksh 7 million when they hosted Kenyan giants Gor Mahia on Sunday, 4 May 2025.

Back to the clash against Mara Sugar, Shabana met a more resilient and rejuvenated opponent fighting for survival. The visitors gave their all to hand Shabana their fourth home loss of the season.

In a match that seemed destined for a goalless first half, Justin Omwando's own goal in the 42nd minute gave Mara a lead they maintained until the final whistle.

Following the result, Shabana dropped to fifth on the table with 52 points, while Mara Sugar climbed to 13th with 35 points.
