The point does little to ease the Soldiers' threat of going down as they still sit two points off Kariobangi Sharks, who occupy the final relegation spot, while Shabana momentarily ascended back to fifth on the standings.
Ulinzi have been enduring a challenging season, which has seen them flirt with relegation for the better part of the campaign.
The military side, who had played fewer matches as compared to other teams in the relegation matrix, had an opportunity to increase the gap between them and Kariobangi Sharks in the red zone to four points, but that did not come to fruition.
Ulinzi started the match on a high tempo and thought they had taken the lead in the fourth minute when Paul Okoth got to the end of a neat exchange of passes, but his goal was ruled out for offside.
The Soldiers were back at it in the 16th minute when Alex Masinde swung an enticing cross into the box, but Stephen Ochieng reacted quickly to prevent Okoth from pouncing.
Two minutes later, Shabana got an opportunity to take the lead in the 18th minute, but Sylvain Ricks made an excellent save from a Humphrey Obinna free kick.
Ulinzi had a similar chance from a free kick at the half-hour mark when Obinna brought down Kevin Musambai on the edge of the box.

One crucial point on the road👏
A disciplined performance, plenty of chances created and a solid defensive display to take something from a tough away fixture💪#GBUS pic.twitter.com/155fLDe7Tr
Musambai stepped up and took the free kick, but Ochieng was equal to the task and made a comfortable save even as the two teams went to the break with scores level.
Ulinzi continued with their surge in the second half and had the first opportunity in the 50th minute when Musambai and Brian Birgen combined to open up the Shabana defence. The former floated in a cross, but it flashed across the goal as the chance went begging.
Shabana also pushed for a goal in the second period, but in the end, both teams settled for a draw at the final whistle.
With the result, Ulinzi remain 15th on the log with 32 points while Shabana moved up to fifth with 48 points.
