Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya expressed delight with his team’s performance in the 0-0 draw with Posta Rangers on Thursday afternoon, terming it as an ‘achievement’ and more so due to the fact that they had managed to shut down their opponents.
“Looking at the game as a barren draw, I would actually term the game as an achievement,” Muluya said post game. “I felt the team didn't work well defensively and it is great to see that something finally worked.”

The body of work defensively was a worrying sight for the mid table side - one having to go as far as late February as the last time they kept a clean sheet in a league game.
Sharks then beat Sofapaka 2-0 to keep back to back clean sheets after holding AFC Leopards to a barren draw in the previous fixture.
Collectively, Kariobangi Sharks have kept five clean sheets this season - one coming in the Mozzart Bet Cup preliminary rounds against Equity Bank FC.
“I have been longing for the day when we finally play without letting a goal in,” a composed Muluya added.
The team in the recent weeks was handed a big boost in the backline following the return of club captain Kevin Luke Otiala and has started in the last three match days - marshaling a new look back three that had the duo of Kevin Musamali and Collins Obanda alongside him.
“I would say we are doing well,” the head coach said of the team’s overall progress. “We now have six games to go till the end of the season and all we now focus on is finishing strongly and looking forward to next season.”
Sharks were last weekend knocked out of the Mozzart Bet Cup and will now look at improving on their league position; where they are currently ranked 11th with 37 points.
Kariobangi Sharks next play Sofapaka on Sunday at the Kasarani Annex Grounds. The match kicks off at 1515 EAT.
