Shocking news coming from Spain.
The former Wolverhampton and Nottingham Forest striker and the ex-Spain international, Rafa Mir, is facing eight and a half years in prison after being convicted of sexual assault and causing bodily harm. In addition, he'll have to pay a €64,000 compensation to his victim.

The sentence consists of 7 years for sexual assault and 18 months for bodily harm.

However, the verdict is not final yet, as the 28-year-old's legal team has the right to appeal the decision and try to reduce the harsh sentence.
Nevertheless, this whole case has tarnished Mir's name and career, during which he represented renowned European clubs, including Valencia, Wolverhampton, Nottingham Forest, and Sevilla.
He spent the last season on loan at Elche from Sevilla, scoring eight goals in 27 La Liga appearances.
During 2021, Mir played six games for Spain's Olympic team at the Tokyo Olympics, where La Furia won the silver medal and the striker netted three times.
