French powerful midfielder understands his teammate's ambition
Transfer saga regarding English star striker keeps on going. Harry Kane has proved it time and time again he is ready for a club more advanced in class than Tottenham Hotspur.
It is a widely accepted opinion that the Spurs missed their chance for greatness in that 2015/16 season when Leicester City managed to hold on to that top of the table and win the Premier League.
Or in that Champions League season in which they did reach the finals but were beaten by Liverpool in 2018/19.
Ever since then Tottenham are back in their everlasting track of soul searching and are trying to impose themselves as a valid member of the English 'big six'. Financially, they do belong - but if we consider consistency and the trophies, they simply do not.
Kane is at the exit doors at the new White Hart Lane and the public view of the situation is split. Kane's teammate, French midfielder of Malian descent, Moussa Sissoko has given an honest assessment on the Englishman's future.
Sissoko insists Harry Kane deserves to win trophies and sincerely wishes his teammate well if he leaves the Spurs, as the striker is constantly linked with both Manchester giants, town rivals Chelsea and both La Liga greats, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The English striker, who will turn 28 in little less than 2 months, has expressed his desire to leave the London club after 17 years. Expectedly, his main career goal is winning silverware and taking advantage of the fact he is still in his prime.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has no plans to sell the team-talisman and he has made that clear, but Kane hopes that talks can be held and a deal can be struck that will suit both sides.
A bid higher than 15 billion KSH is to be expected, if any of his suitors are serious about acquiring Kane's amazing footballing services.
Spurs midfielder Sissoko can understand where Kane is coming from as he deserves to be winning trophies.
Born near Paris, of Malian parents, the 31-year-old Sissoko hopes Kane will stay with the north Londoners for as long as possible, but is realistic and admits if Kane's future lies elsewhere, he wishes him all the best as he has been the main contributor to club's successes for so many years.
“He did not officially say that he wanted to leave the club. Harry is one of, today, the best attackers in the world. Each year, he finishes as the top scorer in the Premier League or is amongst the best goalscorers in the league." Sissoko told Foot Mercato.
"He executed an exceptional year because he finished as top scorer and top assister in the Premier League. Like all players, he wants to win titles. A player of his stature deserves to win titles each season.
"Sadly, we have failed to do so each time for various reasons. I think that this must irk him inside.
"I do not know if he will leave or not, but if he ever did leave, I would wish him the best because he deserves to win titles with all that he has done. He is truly an extraordinary player.
"We would like to have him with us for as long as possible, aside from that, it is all between the president, his agent and him. I simply wish him the best.”
