Six-goal thriller with no winner in Frankfurt: Ex-Chelsea man saves Dortmund deep in added time

The BVB had the lead twice against Eintracht, but ended up saving themselves in the 96th minute, when Carney Chukwuemeka pulled them back from the brink - 3-3

The Bundesliga has returned after 19 days and instantly brought the fireworks we all adore. In a six-goal thriller, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund shared spoils (3-3), playing one of the wildest matches of the season.

Niko Kovac's men had the lead twice, but the home crew somehow managed to bounce back shortly after conceding. It happened in the 22nd minute, when Can Yilmaz Uzun responded to Maximilian Beier's tenth-minute opener with a spot-kick equalizer, as well as 50 minutes later when Eintracht's newcomer, Younes Ebnoutalib, annulled Felix Nmecha's goal only three minutes after it was scored.

And while many expected another Dortmund's strike, this time a decisive one, the packed Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt went wild in the second minute of added time when Mahmoud Dahoud put Eintracht in front.

Yet, this time the visitors had a prepared answer, as the ex-Chelsea man, Carney Chukwuemeka, won them a point in the 96th minute with a late leveller.

If Dortmund were in a better situation in the title race with Bayern Munich, one could say that they dropped points in Frankfurt. However, given the Bavarians' ruthless Bundesliga dominance, Kovac's crew can be satisfied after barely avoiding defeat.

On the other hand, this point is valuable for the Frankfurt side as well, since they are now just three points away from the Champions League zone.
