Two of the six players who have injury concerns have already been ruled out of the clash against Gor Mahia.
Relegation-threatened Mathare United woes are not about to be eased as they have six injury concerns ahead of their fiendish clash against Gor Mahia.
Defender Martin Ongori, top scorer Daniel Otieno, Martin Werunga, veteran forward Clifford Alwanga, Chris Oduor and Harun Junior are facing a race against time to be fit for the K’Ogalo clash.
The Slum Boys will host Gor Mahia on Thursday 17 June looking to avenge their 3-1 loss last time out despite recently posting good results against the reigning league champions.
Ongori will hope to overcome a head concussion he suffered in the last league encounter against AFC Leopards after clashing heads with Washington Munene when challenging for an aerial ball.
The club revealed that the player is scheduled to begin light aerobic training during the week after displaying signs of improvement after his bout with a concussion.
“He was swiftly attended to by our club doctor Wycliffe Omom together with the medics at the ground and regained full consciousness by the time the game was coming to an end.

“A CT Scan was performed the following day after the player complained of severe headache and a positive result was returned showing no internal damage,” read a statement from the club.
Top scorer Daniel Otieno picked up a thigh injury in the 1-2 loss against title-chasing KCB and is yet to resume training but could also make a return to light training this week.
Martin Werunga who joined the club at the start of the season from Nzoia Sugar has been ruled out of the clash after picking up an ankle injury in training. Former Tusker FC forward Clifford Alwanga could feature in the Gor Mahia clash after returning to full training after being on the sidelines due to a knee injury.
The only surviving member of the 2008 league triumph, Chris Oduor has returned to full training after being out with a knee injury.
Harun Junior joins Werunga in missing the clash against Gor Mahia but has massively shown improvement recovering from an ACL tear but still remains a long-term absentee.
