Bandari played to a 1-1 draw with Talanta on Saturday

Bandari FC Technical Director Ricky Solomon has lauded the side's performance despite their 1-1 draw against FC Talanta in the match played at the Kenya Ports Authority's Mbaraki Sports Club on Saturday.

The league was returning after a two-week break to commemorate the FIFA calendar.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Solomon pointed out that their performance was top-notch, but they failed to utilize the chances earned.

"The team played very well, but we didn't utilize the chances we got. We had over five open chances. But that is football, we will work on scoring," Solomon offered.

Solomon who also played for Bandari FC during his heydays insisted that the break gave them an opportunity to get their best players back, as well as work on more tactical details as they gear up for more competitive matches. He emphasized that they came back stronger.

The local league took a brief break to accommodate the FIFA calendar, allowing players not called to the national teams to recharge and regroup for upcoming challenges.

"The break also gave us the much-needed space to recover from injuries and cut down on weights," the former Bandari FC defender said.

The Dockers are also under the tutelage of coach John Baraza who has led them to win four out of seven games, with the other two games being losses and one draw. Baraza took charge of the club after Twahir Muhiddin stepped down as the head coach, citing the inability to handle hands-on roles.

The former Harambee Stars defender also expressed pleasure in the boys' performance in the league, noting that the best was yet to come.

"The team's performance in the local league is amazing. We take each game as it comes. I am glad that the boys are bringing their A-game on board, even during training sessions," Solomon said.

Solomon further pledged his commitment to leading Bandari FC to be the second team in Coast to win a Premier League title. The first title from the Coastal region was won by the Faisal Football Club in 1962. Bandari also won the 2018 Kenya Premier League Super Cup.

“Right now, all my energy is directed towards my former team Bandari FC. I want to see them become the second team in the region to win a Premier League title. It will be a dream come true for me," he concluded.

With the draw now behind them, the Dockers will go back to the drawing board and sharpen their claws for their match against Muhoroni Youth slated for December 3.
