Tera, who has recently cemented his place in the starting line-up, lasted 73 minutes before making way for Vahram Makhsudyan.

That marked his sixth consecutive start after previously finding himself on the bench in two matches earlier in the campaign.

The win proved crucial for Ararat, who had endured a frustrating spell in recent outings that saw them suffer back-to-back defeats.

They had dropped points in a league match before, also falling short in the Armenian Super Cup, where they were knocked out on penalties by Noah FC over the weekend.

The Super Cup disappointment came shortly after they had dropped valuable league points in a defeat to Alashkert, which briefly dented their title charge.

However, the encounter against Van offered the perfect response as Ararat produced a dominant display that saw them establish a comfortable three-goal cushion before Tera left the pitch.

The hosts opened the scoring through new signing Zadan Banjaki, before Aliun Ndur doubled the advantage from the penalty spot to put the match firmly under control.

Artur Serobyan then wrapped up the victory with the third goal of the afternoon, marking his fourth goal of the season.

The three points lifted Ararat-Armenia back to first place in the league standings, where they now sit two points ahead of Pyunik, although their closest challengers still have a game in hand.

Interestingly, the two sides will meet again in the next round of fixtures on Friday, 20 March, in what could provide Van with an immediate opportunity to avenge the defeat.

Following that fixture, the Armenian league will pause briefly to accommodate the international break.

For Tera, the match continued a steady run of game time that has seen him become an increasingly regular figure for the club this season.

The 29-year-old midfielder has so far made 12 appearances for Ararat-Armenia, starting seven matches while accumulating 671 minutes, an average of 56 minutes per game.

At the international level, Tera last featured for Harambee Stars in September 2024, when he made a four-minute cameo against Zimbabwe during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

He remained on the bench four days later as Kenya suffered a 2-1 defeat to Namibia.

The midfielder made his senior national team debut in November 2021, when he came on to play 27 minutes in Kenya’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Uganda, a match that ended in a 1-1 draw.

He was also on the bench a few days later when Kenya defeated Rwanda 2-1 in another Group E encounter.

So far, the onetime Armenian Premier League champion has earned four caps for the national team, two of which have come as substitute appearances.
