The former Tusker man's only other goal contributions for the Swedish third-tier side were two assists in April

Kenyan international Henry Meja opened his goal-scoring account for his Swedish side, AFC Eskilstuna, on Sunday as he scored the team’s opening goal in a 3-2 away victory over Stocksund at the Stockhagens IP 1 Stadium.

The 22-year-old, playing in his 10th game for the Swedish third-tier side where he is currently on loan from AIK Fotboll, scored in the 13th minute, marking his second-only other goal contribution for Eskilstuna after assisting twice in a 3-3 draw against Assriska FF last month.

Goals from Aleksandar Azizovic and Selwan Al-Jaberi in the second half later on rounded off the team’s second win of the season, after the hosts had made a comeback through Jonathan Flensborg and John Lundstom.

And while Meja went on to play all ninety minutes, another Kenyan, Frank Odhiambo, was a second-half substitute, as he came on in the 72nd minute, replacing on-loan midfielder Hadi Noori.

The 19-minute cameo marked the fifth consecutive time the on-loan defender from top-tier side Djurgården FC had featured for Eskilstuna.

He made his debut in April and has one goal so far.

Eskilstuna's win liftss them to 11th place in the 16-team Division One standings with 11 points, five ahead of bottom-placed Pitea.

Their next match is against 15th-placed Taby on Sunday.
