Ian Otieno, Jesse Were, Clarke Oduor and Eric Johanna's teams were all in action on Saturday

Harambee Stars internationals Ian Otieno, Jesse Were, Clarke Oduor and Eric Johanna were all in action on Saturday afternoon as their teams took part in their respective league campaigns.

While Otieno and Were who play for Zambian side Zesco United emerged victorious after ninety minutes, the same could not be said for Oduor. Here is a wrap of how the action unfolded.

Ian Otieno and Jesse Were

The Kenyan duo recorded back to back wins in Zambia as Zesco United defeated Indeni 0-2 in a Zambian Super League clash. While Otieno played for the full length of the game after being named in goal in the starting eleven, there was no feature for Were who had to watch the entire game from the substitutes bench.

In the absence of Were who is the club’s top scorer, John Ching’andu’s brace in the 7th and 49th minute were enough to grab the three points and sail Zesco to sixth on the log on six points having played a game lesscompared to the rest of the teams.

The table is currently topped by Buildcon who have nine points after three games.

Clarke Oduor

Barnsley’s struggles this season continued as their winless run extended to seven games following a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Blackpool in an English Championship fixture. A Shayne Lavery strike in the 32nd minute is the goal that condemned Oduor’s side to a third defeat in nine games.

Following the loss, the club find themselves wading in danger territory as they sit 20th on the log on eight points.

Eric Johanna

In the Swedish second tier, Johanna's Jonkoping Sodra played to a barren stalemate in a home match against Brage. In the match the Kenyan midfieder got full minutes under his belt.
