
Stars Abroad: Olunga on target as quartet register wins

The win lifted Al Arabi off the relegation zone to eighth position in the 12-team league table after seven rounds of matches.
Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga marked his return to the starting eleven for his Qatari side Al Arabi with a goal that helped them stage a comeback and secure victory against Al Sadd.
The two sides met in a Qatar Super League (QSL) match on Saturday, 25 October, at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, with Al Arabi grabbing a crucial 3-1 away win.
The home side opened the scoring in the 39th minute through Akram Afif, but their lead lasted just four minutes as the former Gor Mahia striker drew the visitors level. Ahmed Suhail then scored an own goal in the 45th minute to give Al Arabi the lead.
Things went from bad to worse for the home side in the seventh minute of first-half added time when Paulo Otavio was shown a direct red card.
Olunga was substituted in the 72nd minute, and Al Arabi added a third in the 80th minute through Rodri to seal a third consecutive victory and end their three-match winless run in the league.

In England, Kenyan prospect Zak Vyner once again played the full 90 minutes as Bristol City battled hard to secure a 1-0 victory over Birmingham in the Championship, with Sinclair Armstrong scoring the all-important goal.
The win marked Bristol City’s third consecutive league victory as they continue their resurgence after a four-match winless run.
The result moved them to fourth on the log with 22 points, six behind league leaders Coventry after 12 matches.
In Norway, Harambee Stars winger Alfred Scriven played the full match as his side Bryne suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat to league leaders Viking. The loss leaves Bryne in the relegation zone in 14th place.
In Ireland, Harambee Stars prospect Wilson Waweru was an unused substitute as Sligo Rovers battled to a 1-1 draw with Cork City in the Irish top-flight league.
Harambee Stars winger Job Ochieng was also an unused substitute in the Spanish second tier as Real Sociedad B suffered a 1-0 defeat to Burgos CF.
Irad Mshindi played the full match and helped his Norwegian third-tier side Enkopings secure a 3-2 away victory against Stocksund. His compatriot Stanley Wilson missed the match as he served a suspension following a red card.
Back in Africa, Duke Abuya featured for Yanga as they secured a 2-0 victory over Malawian side Silver Strikers in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round, overturning a 1-0 first-leg loss to book a place in the group stage.
In South Africa, Ian Otieno was in goal for Richards Bay as they secured a 3-2 victory over Durban City in the Carling Knockout quarterfinals to book a place in the last four.
