The former Kakamega Homeboyz forward struck a right-footed equalizer to the roof of the net in the 53rd minute to give his Dynamos side a lifeline, after they had trailed through a Yunus Sentamu goal just six minutes earlier.

The goal, which the tall striker celebrated by waving a small Kenyan flag to the crowd, was his third for the Zambian outfit, following his brace on his full debut against Napsa Stars last month.

Home defender Derrick Ndahiro made things better for Dynamos with less than 15 minutes to play, when he directed a harmless cross into his own net, completing the sensational comeback for the away side.

Despite picking a knock and being stretchered off the field, Shumah toughed it out for the rest of the contest, and will be returning to Kitwe with a spring in his step as Dynamos have one foot in the top-tier of continental football.

The second-leg tie between the two sides is scheduled for Friday, 24 October at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
