Mandela picked up an injury in Sundowns' defeat against Kaizer Chiefs.
Kenyan international Brain Mandela is a huge doubt for South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns for this evening's PSL clash against Golden Arrows after picking up an injury.
Mandela suffered a muscular injury in the 1-2 loss to Kaizer Chiefs last time out and was withdrawn in the 79th minute and replaced by Brazilian Ricardo Nascimento.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Arrows clash, Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena provided an injury update on Mandela.
“We almost have a clean bill of health. Kennedy [Mweene] is ruled out as he is still struggling, but then we have slight knocks from the previous match so we just have to assess that, Gaston [Sirino] had a slight knock and Brian [Onyango] had a few muscle complications,”
“Peter Shalulile, we will have to see, if not this match then hopefully for Sunday’s encounter,” said the co-Sundowns coach.

Since joining Masandawana back in October 2020, Onyango’s stint with the 2016 African champions has been plagued by injury.
Mokwena also shared some of the Arrows' incites ahead of their Wednesday 28 April encounter as their opponents continue with their title-chasing charge.
“[They are a] good team, they have shown good consistency throughout the season, they are a good team with a clear playing philosophy with a clear structure in all schemes, in possession you know exactly how the behaviour is and structurally how they set themselves up from the build-up”
“The very interesting thing is that from the last twelve goals that they have scored, ninety per cent of them have come in between the phase of regaining possession and attacking, they average about 8 seconds to get into your final third, in transition they can hurt you,” added Mokwena.
The clash is slated for a 6 PM kick-off at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
