English left-back decides to return to his home country after a low-key role he had at the Allianz Arena

It was tempting, it was promising, it was a hell of a deal. Or at least, it seemed like that a year ago.

However, it was anything but a sweet season to remember for Omar Richards at Bayern Munich. The 24-year-old full-back decided to leave Reading last year and try his luck with the European powerhouse, but he simply couldn't find enough space or time to prove himself at the Allianz Arena.

Only 17 appearances throughout the entire season were not enough to make both him and coach Julian Nagelsmann happy, so Richards opted for a transfer. And the destination is - England, back home. Only this time, to a newly-promoted Premier League side Nottingham Forest.

Two-time European Cup winners are on the road to resurrection after years spent in the abyss and a low-profile life in the EFL Championship and even some lower levels of the English football hierarchy.

It's clear that Richards wants to play regular football, something that he won't get at Bayern when competing with Alphonso Davies.

Prior to the deal, Bayern were open about selling Richards if the right price was offered, and the defender agreed to the sale. The transfer fee is, per sources, around 10 to 12 million euros.
