Promotion hopefuls Talanta face Seal, Shabana eye MFC's scalp

National Super League toppers FC Talanta will be looking to open a four-point gap at the top of the standings when they tackle Murang'a Seal at the Gems Cambridge grounds on Saturday.

Talanta who have a match in hand returned to the summit last weekend after narrowly edging Modern Coast Rangers 2-1 at the same venue, and thus resuscitated their fading automatic promotion hopes.

Although the odds are stacked in their favour, the club will have to do with their versatile player Brian Okeyo who is suspended for the match owing to the marching orders he received in the last match.

Talanta have forty four points against their name, one ahead of second placed Kenya Police who will take on a resurgent Nairobi Stima at the Ruaraka grounds.

On the other hand, Seal who are ranked eleventh with thirty one points will miss their experienced forward John Kiplangat who has accumulated five yellow cards.

Seal who will be seeking to bounce back to winning ways following their last weekend two all draw with Kibera Black Stars bowed 3-2 in the first leg of the fixture played at the St.Sebastian Park.

In other matches lined up in the day, Shabana will be hoping to return to the promotion bracket when they face MCF at the The Thika Stadium.

The former giants drew closer to the top three after Football Kenya Federation through its competitions committee awarded them three points after Kisumu Hotstars failed to show up at the Narok Stadium.

Consequently, Robert Ojienda's charges moved to fourth with forty one points and victory over the eighth placed debutants will see them scale to second should Stima beat Police.

Fortune Sacco will once again be relying on home comfort for a win they host APs Bomet at the Kianyaga grounds.

The Kirinyaga based club which sits fifth with thirty eight points has proved hard to crack at home this season and will hope the terrain will favor them again in their bid to shoot down the visiting officers who are tenth with thirty four points. The paramilitary side will be without George Onyango who is suspended.
