Former United manager lost four games in a row in 2015
Manchester United has the easiest schedule this week in the Premier League. The Red Devils are playing at Burnley, against a team which is yet to taste it’s first victory. Vicent Company’s team won the Championship title last season with ease, but they are currently terrible in the top flight. Only one draw in four games and 12 received goals are looking very comfortable for United, at least on paper. But the problem is, Erik ten Hag’s men are in crisis of their own. In December 2015, Lous van Gaal lost at Stoke, and it was his fourth defeat in a row. After that, no other United manager managed that. Until today.
🚨🗣️ Ten Hag: "Kompany? We play a friendly against him every year, so we know each other quite well. It's impressive what he's done with Burnley. Not just getting promoted, which is already a great achievement, but also the way they did it. It's really impressive and I'm very… pic.twitter.com/SUdbajQ6DZ

In the first six games, the Red Devils lost four: Tottenham, Arsenal, Brighton and Bayern Munich, with a Nottingham Forest win in between. And looking at the strength of the teams, losses against Arsenal and Bayern are not something which is so strange, but the fanbase would react completely differently if their team were to lose in Burnley. And the pressure is high, especially given the defensive woes of Ten Hag’s team. The Dutchman admitted that he doesn’t know why the players are not putting in the effort to defend.
“We have shown that we can do it because last year we had the most clean sheets in the Premier League because we defended very good as a team so we have to get back to those standards. I am pushing the team and demanding from the team at the start of the season, but they are human beings, not robots so why they are not doing it, I try to find out and I try to get and give the solutions and try to motivate the players to do the job. I always tell my players we attack with 11 and defend with 11. When one or two are not doing their job, it’s like a pack of cards” said the coach.
