Villa, who are preparing for life in National Super League lost the highly-rated Ombacho to City Stars in a move that would have been termed as a blow.

Luanda Villa coach Tom Tera is unfazed by the exit of his first-choice goalkeeper Julius Ombacho who ditched the club for Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Nairobi City Stars.

Villa, who are preparing for life in National Super League lost the highly-rated Ombacho to City Stars in a move that would have been termed as a blow.

The club secured automatic promotion to the second tier after winning FKF Division One Zone B title in the final day of the season, beating their closest challenger-Zoo FC 1-0 to advance.

Tera is happy to lose Ombacho to the top-flight side as he said nurturing and developing players for the highest competition in the land was one of his responsibilities.

"We are happy to see him progress to the next level. It gives me joy to see players who have passed through my hands and the club make steps in the right direction," said the former Kenyan international.

With the NSL beckoning, Tera revealed that he had lined up three replacements to jostle for the void left by Ombacho who penned a year-long deal with City Stars.

"We have already scouted his replacements. We have three young goalkeepers who are talented enough and equal to the task," added Tera.

City Stars had to sign a goalkeeper after releasing two custodians who played for the club last season.

The Nicholas Muyoti-coached side released the duo of Stephen Njung'e and Jacob Osano with Sofapaka snapping the latter soon after his exit from Simba wa Nairobi.

Ombacho debuted for City Stars in the second edition of the Elite Pre-season Cup, featuring against Bidco United and Rainbow FC.
