Monday's Champions League draw paired Sergio Ramos with his old club

It's was their fate. Real Madrid had initially drawn Benfica in the Champions League draw, but it wasn't to be. The draw had to be repeated and its result was of special interest to one Sergio Ramos. The former Real Madrid captain will face his old club.

It's certainly going to be an intriguing couple of games between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, even if Ramos was to miss the big reunion. But in case you wondered how would he react to going to the place where he was considered a legend, the experienced defender made sure he gets a clear message across: he now only cares for Paris.

"I'm going to go ready to die for PSG in the games against Real Madrid. Destiny can be capricious. I would have preferred another opponent but such is life. Everyone knows that I love Real Madrid, but now I will defend Paris and do everything I can to win for my new club. I'll fight to the death for Paris."

Ramos has had a difficult start to his Parisian career following his free transfer earlier this year. But he's finally back to fitness and playing again.

"I'm happy now, but it's been a few hard months. It was a big change for me after so many years in Madrid. I'm feeling good because I'm no longer forced to miss games and training sessions. My body is adjusting to a new regime of work and it feels alright."
