The news of Chelsea’s interest was reported yesterday by Gazzetta dello Sport. According to the paper, a 50 milion euros offer was sent from London to Milan. It was instantly rejected. Inter’s response was clear: Bastoni is not for sale, and the club has no intention of even entering transfer talks. The Italian star, now 26 and at the peak of his career, marshals the Nerazzurri’s defense, and Inter would struggle to find an adequate replacement if they were to let him leave.

Chelsea are facing issues in their backline following Levi Colwill’s injury. Manager Enzo Maresca asked the board to bring in a new defender, and his preferred choice is Bastoni. However, he may have to turn to alternative solutions.

Alessandro Bastoni joined Inter in 2017 at the age of 18. He never changed club colors, having come through Atalanta’s academy and made his Serie A debut in their shirt. Two years later, under Antonio Conte’s management at Inter, Bastoni became a starter and has since been an irreplaceable part of the Milan club’s defense.
