Argentinian veteran joined Serie B side Padova, which resulted in a one-of-a-kind social media video that the whole world is talking about
Alejandro Papu Gomez, a World Cup winner with Argentina in 2022, is returning to action at the age of 37 after a doping suspension - and is doing it with some style.
The 37-year-old midfielder was officially announced as the latest signing for Serie B side Padova Calcio.
Due to the suspension, Gomez will only be allowed to train with his new teammates starting August 19. His playing ban will conclude on October 20, allowing him to fully re-enter the game.

However, Papu's presence at Padova has already become visible, mostly thanks to an original, one-of-a-kind transfer announcement video inspired by the legendary movie Saturday Night Fever, starring John Travolta.
Padova's social media team made their 'Saturday Match Fever', with Papu recreating some of Travolta's disco swagger, while walking in the streets of this picturesque Italian city.
Padova, which has not played in Italy's top flight since the 1995-96 season, returned to Serie B after clinching the title in Group A of the previous year's third division tournament.
Gomez made a name for himself playing for Catania and Atalanta, where he starred from 2014 to 2021. His journey also includes stints at San Lorenzo, Metalist, Sevilla, and Monza.
