Once-prodigious England international Dele Alli is close to leaving Everton for Turkish side Besiktas

There was a moment in time when Dele Alli seemed like the next big thing in football. Both domestically and internationally.

Regular with the Three Lions and thriving under Mauricio Pochettino's guidance at Tottenham, he was enjoying the most fruitful years of his career. Only not being aware of it.

That peak is long gone, and today, at the age of 26, Dele is closer to calling it quits than performing on a high level.

Frank Lampard has provided him with the opportunity to play Premier League with the Toffees, but even the look on Alli's face shows his thoughts are miles away from Goodison Park.

As a matter of fact, he is many miles away since he's reportedly close to joining Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas on loan.

The 26-year-old, who has been capped 37 times by England, has started one game in 13 Everton appearances since joining the club from Tottenham last January.

Lampard has called on Alli to show more consistency in training. He has been used as a second-half substitute in both of the club's league defeats so far, against Chelsea and Aston Villa, respectively.

Meanwhile, Everton and Besiktas are in serious talks about a potential loan move for the midfielder, but, according to BBC, it is not certain that a loan move to Turkey will happen. Even if it goes smoothly, it will represent a blow to the former Spurs player, who joined Everton in an attempt to revitalise his career.
