Except for his love for Santos, Neymar's decision is largely driven by the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup and his desperate desire to return to the national team.
The Selecao boss, Carlo Ancelotti, had already stated that the 33-year-old could be on the team only if he played regularly and avoided injuries. At Santos, he'll have a guaranteed place in the XI, while the recent knee injury will keep him off the pitch for some time, but also resolve his medical issues.
As for the financial aspect of the deal, it's unknown, though the Brazilian Globo claims Neymar will cost the club as much as four or five other players in the squad combined.
