Think twice about moving to United: I didn't want to make a mistake

Jean-Clair Todibo waited for the complete project to be presented to him and in the end, nevertheless, remained in Nice
It is chaotic at Old Trafford. And it is looking so for a longer period of time. The Glazer family announced that they would sell Manchester United, but then they changed their mind. Months were wasted, the transfer window was not closed in the way Erik ten Hag wanted and the problems became easily visible already in the first rounds of the Premier League.
Manchester United's defense is devastating, and full of holes. They were found first by Tottenham and then by Arsenal. Desperately, the Dutch coach was looking for reinforcements in the back line of the team, he also hoped for the departure of Harry Maguire, and the end result is: the stopper paid 87,000,000 remained, and reinforcements did not come. Benjamin Pavard, Edmund Tapsoba and Jean-Clair Todibo were most seriously considered. The latter thought carefully and said NO to the English giant.
Todibo was aware that he was being offered a move to a higher level, he knew that Nice could not offer him what United could, but the big question is how smart it is to go to the Theater of Dreams this summer (why not say the previous summers as well).
"I will not lie and say that I did not think about accepting. I thought about how I should play in a top club in order to increase my chances (to play for the French national team), but in Nice I have guarantees, I know that I will play", said Jean-Clair Todibo for L'Equipe.
Few things in Manchester United are precisely defined and now every normal person will think twice about moving to the ranks of the three-time winner of the Champions League. Jean-Clair Todibo did this too, and when he 'did the math', he realized that it was best for him to be where he had been for two years.
"I experienced it differently than previous situations in my career. I dug deeper, I thought, I was more thoughtful. I didn't want to make a mistake in my choice. I remained very calm", the stopper recalled the day when the connections with United began and added: "I was waiting for them to present me the complete project".
The Frenchman already got burned once in his career, when he moved from Toulouse to Barcelona. He didn't get a real chance, he was in trouble, going on loans. Since then, he has been looking for answers to specific questions.
"I wanted to know what was expected of me, why I was coming... I know what I am in for in Nice. Why go into the unknown? So everything must be clear. I made my first transfer when I was 18 years old, I wasn't thorough, I didn't dig deep", concluded Jean-Clair Todibo.
