The Kenya also missed the Chonburi clash last time out

Kenyan international Ayub Timbe missed the matchday squad as his Buriram United side were knocked out of the AFC Champions League by South Korean side Daegu on penalties following a 1-1 draw.

Buriram failed to provide an update as to why Timbe missed the clash as he missed the Chonburi clash last time out with what looks like an injury after being taken off in the Ratchaburi game in the 60th minute.

The first half saw chances few and far between both teams as they struggled to break down both sets of defenses as the game was mostly dominated in the midfield.

The second half was a mirror of the opening stanza as both teams played with the hand break on, looking to avoid defeat that would take them off the money bracket in the prestigious Champions League.

The game ended in a barren draw as they proceeded to extra time in a bid to find the team that would seal the final slots in the 40 team tournament.

With the game seemingly headed straight into penalties on a barren draw up stepped Jonathan Bolingi who broke the deadlock in the 120th minute but the goal proved not to be enough for Buriram as Daegu had something up their sleeve.

Brazilian midfielder Cesinha saved Daegu's blushes with virtually the last kick of the game as he restored parity and ensured the game went to penalties.

Buriram missed three penalties as Daegu only failed to convert one of their spotkicks as the South Korean side booked a place in the Champions League.
