Bayern Munich open the next Bundesliga round with a home game on Friday night (10.30pm)

Bayern Munich will look to close the gap to leaders Bayer Leverkusen on Friday night when they host Hoffenheim at the Allianz Arena in the opening match of the next Bundesliga round after the short New Year's break.

Thomas Tuchel will be without Kim Min-jae, who is representing South Korea at the Asia Cup, which will see Matthijs de Ligt come into central defence along with Dayot Upamecano.

The Bavarians' latest signing, Eric Dier, arrived at the club on Thursday evening and is likely to find himself a place on the bench. His Bayern Munich debut is more likely to happen next week against Werder.

Serge Gnabry is sidelined, but other than that, the hosts have an almost entire squad available.

With 21 goals and five assists in 15 Bundesliga games, Dier's former Tottenham teammate Harry Kane will lead the line for Bayern.
