A bizarre situation unfolded on the final day of the transfer window in Spain
In a move that has left fans and clubs scratching their heads, legendary goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa reportedly walked away from his deadline-day transfer talks for a coffee—and never came back.
The 40-year-old, celebrated for five World Cup appearances and six CONCACAF Gold Cup titles with Mexico, is also known for his signature hairstyle and headband. Now, he’s added another layer of intrigue to his career by seemingly ghosting Spanish Segunda Division side Burgos, who appeared set to sign him after a year at Portuguese club AVS.

According to Spanish journalist Sergio Gonzalez Pulgar, Burgos had completed the medical and agreed on most terms with Ochoa’s camp. But after requesting a minor contract tweak, the veteran keeper stepped out for a hot drink—and vanished. Burgos reportedly haven’t heard from him since.
