The Blues brought in Kazakhstani forward for 4 million euros

The January transfer window in Europe's top leagues has closed, but Chelsea’s sporting sector is not slowing down and has officially completed another deal in recent hours—this time, for the future. The London club has secured the services of talented Kazakhstani forward Dastan Satpaev for 4 million euros, including bonuses, setting a new record in Kazakh football.

The previous record belonged to Patrick Twumasi, who was transferred from Astana to Alavés in June 2018 for three million. Satpayev, meanwhile, is a member of Kairat’s youth academy (U18), where, according to available data, he scored 19 goals and provided six assists in just 12 matches last year. His talent did not go unnoticed by Chelsea scouts, who recommended him for a multi-week trial at the club’s Cobham training center. The 16-year-old striker initially trained with the U16 team, then moved up to the U19 squad, and reportedly even played a match with the U21s. After these evaluations, the club determined that he has the potential to play for the Blues.

As a result, he signed a five-year contract with an option for a one-year extension at Stamford Bridge. However, he will remain in Kazakhstan until he turns 18 and then, in June 2026, he will officially join Chelsea. Until then, he is expected to continue developing at Kairat, where he has already made five first-team appearances and scored one goal last season.
