Turmoil in Juventus: Teammates unhappy with Ronaldo, Pirlo to be sacked?

Juventus is in turmoil. The Super League fiasco, the unsuccessful title defense, the Ronaldo „case“, players unrest, coach on the verge of sack....you name it, it happened to the Old Lady. This is been a season from hell for Juventus and it’s not over yet. Bianconeri have three more must-win games against Sassuolo (tonight), Inter (15.05.) and Bologna (23.05.) if they want to play Champions League next season. But even all three wins won’t be enough, they need for Milan or Napoli or Atalanta to slip in the next three rounds. Tough indeed.

It would be easier if the players were united, but they are in fact unhappy. Unhappy with their coach, unhappy with Ronaldo. The Juve forward is one of the best players in the world, or he used to be. He is the top scorer for the Bianconeri this season, but his behavior is not something his teammates support. Maybe it would be different if the Old Lady was in the first or in the second spot in Serie A, but in this situation, they are unhappy.

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, Cristiano Ronaldo is isolated in the Juventus dressing room as his teammates believe he’s been given too much freedom. The latest one would be that after a heavy defeat against Milan, he didn’t bother to go to the training with the rest of the players, choosing instead to visit the Ferrari factory and buy himself a new car, and he was accompanied by president Andrea Agnelli and CEO John Elaknn.

He also had other „fouls“ in the last couple of months: his famous reluctance to jump in the free-kick wall, which resulted in some key goals, like against Porto in the Champions League, or throwing Juventus shirt, or punched the dressing room wall or missing trainings due to sponsorships reasons. Easy to see why other players are not happy.

They also discussed the coach, and agreed that his training sessions are considered too light. Pirlo’s statements like „Weston McKennie has to be professional at 100 per cent, not 50 per cent“ before the Milan match were not well perceived and even Gianluigi Buffon, the iconic goalkeeper is said to be dissappointed in his good friend and former teammate, which is one of the reasons he decided to leave Juve.

The likely outcome of this season will be that both Pirlo and Ronaldo will leave at the end of the season. Corriere Della Sera claims Pirlo is over and done at Turin even if the team qualifies for the Champions League, while Ronaldo will ask to leave if they fail to qualify.
