Continental football certainly comes with the demand for quality players, something that the experienced administrator is well aware of.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Gacheru disclosed the positions that the team will be shopping for in the current transfer window.
“Ian Simiyu is good upfront, but we probably need a good striker to combine with him. We also need someone to help strengthen Erambo (Chris) in midfield, while Momanyi (Charles) may also need another strong partner at the back,” said Gacheru.
Tusker enters the market, a confident lot, knowing that their participation in continental football gives them an edge over teams that will only be playing locally.
“We are already in the market, looking and talking to some players. Winning the final also gives us a better chance as players would be interested to join us.”
Meanwhile, Gacheru revealed that the Kenyan giants will have minimal activities in the transfer market, as the club is largely pleased with the current squad.
“We are going to make some changes, not many of them because we have a pretty good squad, but we are obviously going to make a few additions to bolster the squad,” he added.
Tusker last won the Cup in 2016 under coach Paul Nkata.
