Erambo has worked his way back after a difficult start to the season that saw him sidelined with injury.
In the last few matches since Mette’s arrival, the midfielder has earned more minutes, and his performances have also pushed him back to the national team.
Speaking to the club’s official social media channels, Mette said he has been impressed by the former Mombasa Elite midfielder, whom he believes is destined for the top.
“He has big potential, and I have already sent images and footage of him to my network in France because I would like him to go to Europe. It would be good for him, the club, and Kenyan football.
I love this type of player. He is also a good guy; he never has bad phases, he never complains, and he is always listening to instructions. He is a perfect player to manage,” said Mette.
The coach added that the midfielder still has room to improve and could become a key player for the national team.
“We can still improve his play, and I think he is ready to exploit 100 percent of his potential and become one of the most important players in the starting lineup of the national team. He needs to have that kind of ambition and belief that he can do it.”
Erambo was part of the Harambee Stars squad during the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) but aggravated an injury after returning to his club, forcing him to miss a large portion of the first leg of the season.
He returned to first-team action at the start of February.
Speaking to the club’s website, Erambo said he is delighted to earn a recall to the Stars squad ahead of the FIFA Series friendly matches set for the end of the month in Kigali.
“It is a massive motivation for me and a reward for the hard work I have been putting in behind the scenes. It gives me a huge boost to keep working and get back to my best form. It has been a long and tough journey to recover and get minutes, and this really helps,” the midfielder said.
Erambo now hopes to play an important role for the Brewers as they seek to revive their season.
With the league title realistically out of reach, Tusker are targeting silverware in the Mozzart Bet Cup, where they have qualified for the Round of 16.
