Njuguna rejoined The Brewers last year from Ulinzi Stars

Youthful Tusker winger John Njuguna has hailed the role played by experienced players at the club in shaping the careers of the junior ones who have been thriving in recent times.

Tusker haven't concealed their appetite for young players recently as they have roped in rookies from their youth team to the senior team and went out to shop for the best out there.

Among those who have been privileged to don the yellow and white robe is Njuguna, a Tusker Youth product who joined the senior team before the season began from Ulinzi Stars.

Other young players in the team are Eric Zakayo, Jimmy Mbugua, Lawrence Luvanda, Stewart Omondi and Rodgers Ouma who all have enjoyed first team duties and certainly fall into coach Robert Matano's plans.

Njuguna who prior to joining Nakuru All Stars had honed his skills at Tusker Youth said the senior players were supportive and were always there to defend them whenever an opponent wants to bully them.

"I have been able to settle well at Tusker largely due to the fact that the players were welcoming and supportive. There are a host of young players who have the backs of the senior ones," he said.

Njuguna in the meantime believes that he will surpass the ten goal mark from the remaining nine rounds. The winger who can also play behind the forwards has a goal and a couple of assists against his name thus far.

"The Tusker bench and fans are yet to see my best. I will continue working for the benefit of the team and my own as I have dreams to turn professional in future. Before then, I will be pursuing to score more than nine goals from the remaining matches," he said.
