The club will resume action against Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday 17 December.

Record league champions Gor Mahia are set to proceed for a two-week break after their upcoming matches against Wazito and Mathare United were postponed.

Both Mathare United and Wazito FC occupied relegation places after last season alongside Vihiga Bullets and are yet to kick off the league due to a pending case at the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT).

The court issued a stay order on the decision of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) National Executive to nullify the promotion and relegation of teams in the 2021/2022 season.

The decision was arrived at after APs Bomet and Kona Rangers contested the decision that denied them the promotion to the FKF Premier League and National Super League (NSL) respectively.

Gor Mahia revealed that they will benefit from a two-week league break before resuming action on Saturday 17 December with Kariobangi Sharks.

“Our two league matches that were scheduled for Dec 3 and Dec 11 against Wazito and Mathare United respectively have been suspended pending a case at SDT; we resume league action on December 17 against Kariobangi Sharks,” read a statement from the club.

The decision will come as a blow to K’Ogalo who had gathered some steam after winning their opening two games against Nzoia Sugar FC and Bidco United.

K’Ogalo will also have a more congested fixture schedule once the teams are cleared to feature in the league.
