The pendulum went from one side to the other and back in a spectacular game which ends in a 4-2 home win (5-4 on agg)

Borussia Dortmund reached their first Champions League semi-final in 11 years (last time, they went a step further led by Jurgen Klopp, but Bayern Munich defeated them in the showdown) thanks to a superb second-half comeback to beat Atletico Madrid 5-4 on aggregate.

Having lost the first leg 2-1 in Madrid, Dortmund quickly turned things around with Julian Brandt and Chelsea loanee Ian Maatsen finding the back of the net before the interval for a turnaround.

However, that was just one part of the rollercoaster ride we witnessed on Tuesday night.

Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid bounced back shortly after returning from the break. Firstly, Mats Hummels' clearance resulted in an own goal before Angel Correa pounced on a loose ball to give his team a 4-3 lead on aggregate.

It seemed like the home side wouldn't be able to make another comeback, but Fullkrug's lovely header and Sabitzer's perfect missile in the span of just four minutes decided this sublime quarter-final tie in Dortmund's favour (5-4 on agg).
