Okoth was a sensation last season, sitting at the apex of Ulinzi Stars’ attack and establishing himself as one of the finest scorers in the league, with a total of 18 goals, one shy of evetual Golden Boot winner Joe Waithira.

For his troubles, the soft-spoken forward was named as the FKF Premier League Player of the Month for both November 2025 and May 2026.

Okoth, who had already experienced a disappointing short stint in the league with Kariobangi Sharks, seemed to have amazed his club captain.

“Even myself, I was surprised when he came into the team. It has been a while since we had such a striker. He is a complete and blessed striker, the best we have in the league,” said Birgen.

The experienced, versatile defender went ahead to explain what makes Okoth a prolific striker.

“He is good on air, with his feet, he can shoot and also with great finishing, attributes that you do not get so often in a single player. He is a good player. He helped us big time. He also announced himself into the top scene with a bang and disapproved of everyone,” he added.

With Ulinzi flirting with relegation for the better part of the season, Okoth played an integral part to ensure the military side retain their league status including the four match einning strikes in May that earned his second monthly gong.

As expected, Okoth has attracted interest from various clubs, both locally and internationally with Birgen predicting a bright future for the youngster.

“I hope he continues scoring and whatever God has planned for his future comes become fruitful,” he concluded.
