Odhiambo is expected to return in the clash against reining championship Tusker FC.

2010 Premier League champions, Ulinzi Stars have been handed an injury blow ahead of their clash against Wazito after midfielder Staphod Odhiambo was ruled out for two weeks.

Odhiambo started for Ulinzi in the 3-1 win over Mathare United on Wednesday but was forced out with a knee injury he suffered four minutes into the halftime break and was replaced by Clinton Omolo.

The midfielder, however, received some good news after scans revealed that the injury is not as serious as first thought, and is set to be on the sidelines for a fortnight.

"Midfielder Staphod Odhiambo who was stretched off in the 41st minute misses out for two weeks with a left knee joint (media ligament) sprain picked against Mathare United," read a statement from the club.

Odhiambo is expected to return in the clash against reining championship Tusker FC, who are already threatening to run away with the league title as they currently hold a two-point advantage with a game in hand.

Ulinzi will have to do without the services of the teenager in games against Wazito, the disciplined forces derby against Kenya Police FC, Bandari, and KCB FC.

The midfielder joined Ulinzi in the off-season transfer window from Bondo United and impressed in the Elite Pre-season Cup, earning glowing tribute from head coach Bernard Mwalala.
