United's third win in a row and Garnacho's goal of the season

Manchester was not good again, but 3-0 win is all that matters

An early Christmas party for Manchester United fans! Their team won a tricky away game against Everton (3-0), and Garnacho, Martial and Rashford all scored in a single game! It's a game for the history books, indeed. But above all, in this game, an early candidate for the goal of the season was scored. It was the third minute when Dalot picked out Garnacho on the far side of the box. The Argentinian made a scissor kick, and the ball went back into the far corner past a helpless Pickford. A touch of magic. And it’s also almost the same goal as Wayne Rooney’s, who scored in the derby with City back in 2011. He also got an assist from the Portuguese player, but back then, it was Nani instead of Dalot. With this goal, the Argentinian became the youngest scorer in the history of the Premier League at Goodison Park against Everton. He did it at 19 years and 148 days, surpassing Wayne Rooney's record from August 2005, when he was 19 years and 293.

It sounds odd to say that Everton was the better team after 90 minutes, even though they lost 3-0, but that’s the truth. On the other hand, the reason why they are so low on the table (apart from a 10-point deduction) is that they cannot capitalize on their good displays. It ended up as a heavy loss, but the Toffies had great chances after the Garnacho goal. However, United had excellent Onana, who made some wonderful saves in the crucial moments. The other two goals just came as a punishment for their missed opportunities. But the Red Devils won’t mind, as they now have three Premier Leagues in a row.

Apart from the wonder goal, the Red Devils did little to earn the lead. The Toffies controlled most of the half and created chances (four shots on target), and two of them stood out. In the 32nd minute, Calvert-Lewin’s great shot from 12 meters was saved by Onana, and when McNeil ran over to score with the deflected ball, the Cameroonian keeper was brilliant again, saved the shot, but the ball was on its way to the goal. Luckily for United, Mainoo cleared it off the line. Just a minute later, Doucoure had a chance, but his shot was wide off the mark.

All those misses in the first half were punished after a clumsy Ashley Young challenge on Martial. Initially, it looked like the Frenchman dived and even received a yellow card for it, but a lengthy VAR check proved otherwise, and Rashford finally scored for 2-0. Then it was time for Onana again, who tipped of Gueye’s thunderbolt from 25 meters. After that, the Toffies had to be more open in order to score, and United used that for their counter-attack, from which Anthony Martial finally scored the final 3-0 for the Red Devils.
