Gor Mahia head coach Vaz Pinto has blamed Geoffrey Ochieng after the loss against Napsa Stars in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Gor Mahia head coach Manuel Vaz Pinto has bemoaned a lapse in concentration by Geoffrey Ochieng that led to Napsa Stars notching the all-important goal on Sunday.
K’Ogalo have a mountain to climb after going down 0-1 at home to Daniel Adoko’s 85th-minute zinger after Ochieng carelessly ceded possession inside his own box.
The Portuguese tactician highlighted the key moment of the game that led to Gor Mahia losing the important home CAF Confederation Cup clash but was hopeful of turning things around in the return leg.
“The goal came after our defender (Geoffrey Ochieng) gave away possession to the Napsa player but this happens sometimes in football. Of course, we wanted more possession than we had today, I think we can do better but anything can happen in Zambia,” said Pinto.

Gor Mahia failed to threaten Napsa Stars with custodian Rabson Mucheleng'anga being a pedestrian for huge spells of the game.
Pinto was handed a baptism of fire in his maiden continental match for Gor Mahia with pressure bound to mount should K’Ogalo fail to secure a place in the group stages.
Gor have been in shambles this season losing heavily to Algerian champions Belouizdad in the First Round of the Champions League and sit sixth on the table.
Their Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) is under serious threat with Tusker and KCB peeling away following a sensational start to the season.
Gor will travel to Zambia to take on Napsa Stars with the match pencilled for Sunday 21 February.
