Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira has cut short his holiday on the Greek island of Mykonos to fly to London

With a (sur)name Vieira, there's no chance to fail when playing for the Gunners, right?

French midfielder Patrick Vieira became a club legend and took the North London hears by storm back in the days. And now, it's time for his namesake, only from Portugal.

He plays in midfield, too, but Fabio Vieira is yet to establish himself as a star in the Gunners' sky. First things first, he cut short his holiday on the Greek island of Mykonos to fly to London to sign for Arsenal in a £30 million deal.

The 22-year-old is expected to undergo medical today before signing a five-year contract.

Portuguese newspaper O Jogo reports the deal could be made official as early as Friday. Vieira, a versatile attacking midfielder, came through the youth ranks at Porto and helped them win the Portuguese title last season.

The Portugal Under-21 international enjoyed a breakthrough year last season, amassing six goals and 14 assists in 27 league appearances for Porto to help the club claim a 30th league title.

However, Mikel Arteta remains keen on signing long-term target Youri Tielemans, but Arsenal and Leicester are yet to agree on a fee for the 25-year-old Belgian.
