
Wanyama suffers Champions League defeat as Abud features for Greek side

Montréal will have to score at least two goals to progress to the semi finals of the CONCACAF Champions League.
Former Harambee Stars skipper Victor Wanyama suffered a 1-0 defeat with Club de Foot Montréal at the hands of Cruz Azul in the CONCACAF Champions League.
The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was handed a start as he skippered the side in the away clash to the Mexican side at the Azteca Stadium.

After dominating the opening phases of the clash, Cruz Azul opened the scoring in the 20th minute when the ball broke loose for Carlos Romero on the right flank and drilled the ball low and hard into the back of the net.
Wanyama lasted the entire 90 minutes of the clash as Montréal suffered defeat in the semi-final of CONCACAF Champions League with the second leg set for Canada next Wednesday.
Abud Omar
Kenyan international Abud Omar was a second-half substitute in Athlitiki Enosi Larissa’s 1-1 draw against Veria in the Greek Super League 2.
Larissa needed just four minutes to break the deadlock through Nikolaos Gotzamanidis who nodded in a corner from point-blank range.

Veria drew level in the 20th minute when Giannis Pasas found the back of the net after a goalmouth melee from a freekick which Larissa failed to clear their lines a number of times.
Abud was introduced after the hour mark with Larissa holding on to the 1-1 draw in the top of the table clash with the three-point gap maintained by Veria at the summit of the log.
