Glasgow Rangers finish the group with 0 points and a -21 goal difference, the worst-ever UCL performance

The Scottish giants, Celtic's archrivals, boast the worst record of any side to enter the Champions League group stage following the Tuesday night 3-1 defeat to Ajax.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side landed a nightmare group, and the loss at the hands of the Dutch champions made it six defeats in a row, as Napoli, Liverpool, and Ajax swept aside last season's Europa League finalists.

The Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb finished their dreadful 2011-12 campaign with no points, three goals scored, and 22 conceded for a goal difference of -19. The defeat at Ibrox leaves, however, Glasgow Rangers with a record of scoring only two and conceding 22. This means a goal difference of -20 on their return to the Champions League group stage after a 12-year absence.

It's not the first time Rangers have failed to win a single Champions League group stage game. The 2009-10 campaign included successive defeats at the hands of Sevilla, a defeat and a draw against Stuttgart before a disappointing 4-1 home defeat to Romanian minnows FC Urziceni, who also secured a draw against the Gers.
