Origa believes their first win will catapult the team to success. He says they are working towards winning their first match of the campaign.

Wazito FC midfielder Fidel Origa says the team is working hard in training so as to turn their fortunes around in the coming matches.

Six matches into the new campaign, Wazito are yet to pick a league win. They have registered two draws with the other four matches ending in defeats. The Francis Kimanzi-led outfit is in the danger-zone with only Vihiga Bullets below them.

Wazito beefed up their squad well before the start of the season but things are yet to click and Fidel says that the team has been unlucky in some games. He believes that the team’s first win will be a catalyst for better performance going forward.

“Of course we are trying to get ourselves out of our current position. We have been unlucky in some games where we put in a good performance overall but we do not get the desired results in the end. We are striving to get that first win and I believe after that more will follow, it is just a matter of time,” he stated.

The league has taken a two-week break after the FKF caretaker committee formed by FKF suspended all leagues in the country for a period of two weeks and the midfielder says this period will be important for the team to work on their weak areas.

“The break is not entirely a negative thing; we are using it to prepare well for our next game. There are mistakes that we made in our previous games which with more training sessions we will be able to rectify them and be ready for the resumption of the league,” he added.

Next for Wazito is a match against league leaders and record champions Gor Mahia.
