What a game, what a thrill, what a destiny! Suffering Luis Diaz scores a last-gasp equalizer to prevent Luton's upset

It ends 1-1 at Kenilworth Road in one of the most exciting fixtures of the Premier League season so far

"As far as I'm concerned and as far as I know, it looks like they are pretty relaxed with the situation. They knew it would be tricky, so they want to get everything out of this season, so that means point by point, surprise here, take the points there and try to stay in the league - and that's the team we will face."

That's what Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said about Luton Town in the build-up for the Sunday night EPL tie at charming little Kenilworth Road. And, guess what, he was more than right! The only thing Klopp probably couldn't imagine is that the Premier League strugglers will find their desperately needed point - and it could have been all three - against his Reds.

Liverpool drew at Luton 1-1 thanks to Luis Diaz's added-time equalizer after Tahith Chong pushed the underdogs in front only a few minutes prior.

The Colombian forward scored a header and celebrated it by showing a shirt with a 'Freedom for dad' note writen in Spanish, as his father has been missing for more than a week (probably kidnapped).

Luton previously thought they had the three points when former Manchester United midfielder Tahith Chong tapped home past Alisson on the counterattack after good work from Issa Kabore - as Liverpool players complained for a handball by Ross Barkley from their own corner. It was just a culmination of a game which could be labelled as one of the most exciting since the start of the Premier League season.

The first half provided us with lots of action and chances, mostly for Liverpool, but Luton's keeper Kaminski made sure none of Liverpool's players ended up with their names on the scoresheet. Stats show the Reds had not less than 16 goal attempts before the interval, most by Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan striker was the closest to scoring 13 minutes into the game, following a perfect Trent Alexander-Arnold's long pass before the ball ended on a crossbar. It was only one of his three opportunities in the opening 15 minutes, but Kaminski kept a clean sheet.

Diogo Jota joined Nunez in attempts to break the deadlock, while Mo Salah struggled to find himself enough space and chance to fire. At that point, Jurgen Klopp didn't seem to be worried, with plenty of time still left on the clock. However, as time went by, it was apparent the Scousers were becoming more and more nervous, and their attacking solutions were deteriorating, especially after the break.

Moreover, things started to heat up on the other side, as Ogbene and Morris were so close to upsetting the visitors, but Alisson saved his team. Still, no one could save Liverpool from disastrous Darwin on Sunday night.

Nunez should be a nominee for the miss of the season for the sitter around the 70-minute mark he squandered above the post from not more than two yards out.

That hilarious miss was accompanied by another chance for the South American forward just a minute or two later, only this time, it was Kaminski who denied his much better effort.

And then... we rushed into a sensational finish, with Chong and Diaz putting cherries on the top of this amazing match.
